Bella’s Bound South For The SA Junior Heifer Expo

The Red Angus Junior Program is thrilled to announce that Bella Hanson from ‘Woolthorpe’ Theodore, QLD, has been awarded the 2024 South Australian Junior Heifer Expo Scholarship.

Bella works alongside her family to run their stud operation, Bullakeana Brangus and Ultrablacks, selling approximately 70 bulls annually. Growing up in the show ring, she has competed at both State and National levels in junior events, showcasing her expertise and commitment to cattle breeding.

Currently, Bella is in her final year of studying a Bachelor of Communications, majoring in Journalism and Business Communication. She also works as a freelance journalist, photographer, media consultant, and co-hosts the Cowgirl Channel podcast from her family’s property. Her passion lies in rural journalism and agricultural advocacy, making her a well-rounded and deserving recipient of this scholarship.

As part of this scholarship, Bella will receive a heifer generously donated by Jillangolo Livestock. The Junior Program thanks Jillangolo Livestock for their commitment to nurturing the next generation of cattle breeders.

When asked what she hopes to gain from attending the event, Bella states, “I love the networking opportunities that the SAJHE has to offer. It’s also a great way to be able to see southern seedstock operations first hand.”

Bella’s dedication to her studies and her keen interest in cattle breeding have made her a standout candidate for this scholarship. We are confident that she will make the most of this opportunity, and we look forward to seeing her progress and contributions to the cattle breeding community.

Please join us in congratulating Bella on this outstanding achievement and in thanking Jillangolo Livestock for their generous support. We are excited to follow Bella’s journey and see the positive impact she will undoubtedly gain at the 2024 SAJHE.
